Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about AR Studio.
What is AR Studio?
AR Studio is a no-code platform that lets you create and publish augmented reality experiences. Upload your 3D models, customize your viewer, generate a branded QR code, and share a Smart Link — no app download required for your audience. We support both Surface AR (place models on flat surfaces) and Image Tracking AR (attach models to a target image).
Do my users need to install an app?
No. AR Studio uses WebAR technology. Your users simply scan a QR code or tap a link, and the 3D experience loads directly in their browser. It works on iOS (Safari), Android (Chrome), and desktop browsers without any app installation.
What's the difference between Surface AR and Image Tracking?
Surface AR lets users place 3D models on any flat surface like a table or floor — great for product visualization, furniture, and interactive displays. Image Tracking AR attaches a 3D model to a specific target image — the model appears when the camera detects that image. Perfect for packaging, business cards, posters, and print materials.
What file formats are supported?
For Surface AR: .glb (Android/Desktop) and .usdz (iOS AR Quick Look) — both are required. For Image Tracking: .mind (compiled target file) and .glb (3D model), with an optional preview image (JPG/PNG). You can also download sample files directly from the dashboard to test before uploading your own.
How do I deploy my first AR experience?
It's a simple 3-step process in the Dashboard: Step 1 — name your project and select your AR type (Surface or Image Tracking). Step 2 — upload your files by clicking or dragging & dropping them into the upload zones. Step 3 — customize your viewer settings (branding, buttons, colors) and hit Deploy. You'll instantly get a QR code and shareable link.
How does pricing work?
We offer three monthly plans: Lite (₹89/mo) — 1 project, Surface AR only. Creator (₹1,999/mo) — 20 projects, all AR types including Image Tracking, hide branding option. Pro Studio (₹9,999/mo) — 100 projects, all AR types + early access to new types, hide branding, full analytics. All plans include Custom Color QR codes. For enterprise needs, contact us for a custom plan.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription directly from your Profile page — just click the "Cancel Auto-Renewal" button. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, so you won't lose access immediately. No need to email or contact support.
Is there a free trial?
You can create an account for free and explore the dashboard. To deploy AR experiences, you'll need to subscribe. The Lite plan at ₹89/month is the most affordable way to try the full platform with a live project.
Can I upgrade my plan later?
Yes, you can upgrade at any time from the Pricing page. Your new plan takes effect immediately. If you're on Lite and need Image Tracking AR, you'll need to upgrade to Creator or Pro.
Can I customize how the AR viewer looks?
Yes. In the Viewer Customization panel you can: hide AR Studio branding (Creator & Pro plans), add a custom header text, set an info popup message, add a website button with custom color, and choose between a gradient or flat-color AR button. All changes are previewed live before you deploy.
Can I customize the QR code?
Yes — all plans include Custom Color QR codes. After deploying, you can change the dot color, background color, dot style (rounded, square, classy, extra-rounded), corner style, and export in PNG, SVG, or PDF at up to 4K resolution.
Can users take photos or videos in the AR viewer?
Yes, in Image Tracking AR mode. A capture button appears after the AR scene loads — tap to take a JPEG screenshot, or press and hold to record a video (saved as MP4 where supported). Both save directly to the user's device and appear in their normal photo gallery.
Can I track how my AR experiences perform?
Yes. Your Profile page has a full Analytics tab with: total views, unique visitors, AR activation rate, average session duration, return rate, views over time chart, peak hours, device/OS/browser breakdown, top countries with a geographic map, traffic sources, and languages. You can filter by time period and by project, and export the entire report as a PDF.
How do I manage my campaigns?
Your Profile page has a Campaigns tab where you can see all your projects. You can search by name, filter by AR type (Surface or Image Tracking), sort by most recent or most views, preview any project, share its link with one click, view its QR code, or delete it.
How fast does the AR experience load?
Very fast. Your 3D assets are served through a global CDN (Bunny.net) which ensures low-latency delivery worldwide. Most experiences load within 2–5 seconds depending on the file size and the user's connection. A loading indicator with percentage shows real-time progress.
How do I create a .mind file for Image Tracking?
Go to the MindAR Image Compiler, upload your target image (the image you want to trigger the AR), download the generated .mind file, and upload it in the dashboard. A helpful guide is shown right in the Image Tracking section when you're deploying.
What industries can use AR Studio?
AR Studio works for any industry — hospitality (interactive menus), real estate (architecture visualization), education (anatomy models), retail (product showcases), packaging (nutrition scanners with Image Tracking), aviation, events, fashion (virtual try-on), marketing campaigns, business cards, and much more.
Are there sample files I can test with?
Yes. In the Dashboard deploy section, there's a "Sample Files" download button that gives you a ZIP containing example .glb, .usdz, and .mind files so you can test the platform before uploading your own assets.
